Each piece we make takes great effort to elaborate, 4-10 sets of hands to finish. In our pieces every stitch is filled with creativity, pride, tradition, passion & ancient knowledge that together with each of our artisans we create the perfect piece for you.
A piece of Mexican culture in your hand
- We source the best palm trees in Mexico, located in the southern part of the country (mapita y la Palma)
- The palm leaves are carefully cut by hand
- The leaves are then cooked to soften them before the weaving process
- Our artisans then begin hand-weaving the boiled palm leaves one by one
- A unique bag design is hand-drawn on the woven palm square
- The bag sowing process begins to give the bag its “shape”and structure
- Our artisans begin embroidering all embellishments and colorful threads by hand
- Our distinct Solana crown and hardware are added to the bag
- Voila! Our Solana bag is ready for you
Our Handbags take around 2 months to create. We start by cutting the natural raw material. We cook the palm to have a soft texture to start braiding it. Once the strands of our palm are woven, we sun dry it and it’s dyed manually to create our color palette.
Once we have the right color we start cutting the shapes of our bags. Once we have our shapes, we draw our figures to begin the embroidery process. We embellish our bags with palm pompons that are hand-dyed and made by hand.

We are #slowfashion and are not focused on trends or mass production. We create pieces that are meant to last in your closet for years. We work only with biodegradable materials (organic cotton, linen, palm). We are working on a recycling program for our products to contribute to the sustainable circular economy. We believe leaving a better world for future generations and create consciousness to all fashion lovers.
